The anaerobic transport system is a self-contained, sterile ready to use system which includes a glass tube containing a semi-solid, pre-reduced transport medium. It is intended for maintaining viability of a wide variety of microorganisms during transportation for up to 48 hours. the system has an indicator that will turn lavender if the anaerobic condition is compromised. Furthermore, letting oxygen into the tube can be avoided by injecting fluids through the rubber center of the screw cap with a needle and syringe. This system contains a glass vial for optimum clarity, screw cap, a pierceable, non-latex septum, two scored swabs, 7mL of semisolid medium all in a convenient peel pouch package. Label on a vial shows lot #, expiration date and has lines for patient information, Shelf life is 18 months.
